I’d like to take this time to thank Advanced and the rest of the Lumenaries™ crew for all the fun I had playing with the guild.  You are all the best!

On a side note, I’ll be logging on and selling/giving away all my gear, then donating the funds to the guild.

Here are the results of my finding:

As you can tell from the charts, it’s never a good time to purchase gold, as it’s value is always much higher than what you’d get from selling it.

It appears that the formulas used by the server for calculating the value are as follows:

• Selling gold: Service Fee + (Exchange Rate – (Tax Rate * Exchange Rate))
• Buying gold: Service Fee – (Exchange Rate + (Tax Rate * Exchange Rate))

It’s the transposition of the ± symbols in the (Exchange Rate + (Tax Rate * Exchange Rate) part of the formula that make it impossible to make money by playing the market.

There has been a few issues with my webhost, and I did something incredibly stupid… so between the two, the site was down.

In a nutshell, DO NOT buy gold when it’s low if you expect to make a proffit by selling again when the value is high.  The value of buying gold, even at it’s lowest, is always higher than the value of selling it.

I believe that this is because the calculations the game use are either incorrect, or you were never meant to be able to make a profit by playing the market.

I purchased a domain that was easier to remember and a little shorter.  The domain was purchased for 2 years, and can be extended for as long as it’s needed.

While another, much larger guild (who will be known in this post only as “those whiny bastards”) decided that they would boycott the chip war and instead sit in HQ and bitch, the Lumenaries™ guild stepped up to the task of protecting the chip.

Every Lumenaries™ guild member who was online at the time attended the chip war, and while the outcome wasn’t pretty, they stood their ground and did their best to protect the chip.  At the end of the battle, the race leader, GreyFox awarded us with inclusion in the Honor Guild as the “Elite Guild”

Excellent job, Lumenaries™!!

Log out of the game, put on your cleanest dirty shirt, and go vote!  The game will still be there when you get back.
